Pride (2014)-

The nationality of this trailer is Welsh, this is supported by the film starting with non- diegetic sound of a choir singing, this is stereotypical of Welsh people. The first shot used is an establishing shot of the countryside, this is used to show people that it is set in Britain and Wales. Throughout the film Welsh people are shown spending time in their community centre and drinking with friends. This is stereotypical of Welsh people and shows the audience that they are no different, this links into the idea that gays are no different from other people so they show be treated the same. The british music used in the trailer linked into the idea that the film is set in Britain and it is a British film, this suggests that the British and the Welsh are close and get on very well. The stereotype of old generation is fitted in this trailer when the older people meet new people, for example when they meet the gay people, they are very ignorant and rude, this shows that they are small- minded and not interested in what other people have to say, this also links into the stereotype of Welsh people being small- minded and quite ignorant when they meet new people. The dialogue and dialect of the film links into the stereotype of Welsh people and it being very song- like and melodic and that the way they pronounce their words is very slow and exaggerated.

Rihanna- American Oxygen:
The national identity of this video is based on America. This majority of this video represents America in a negative way. Both diegetic and non- diegetic sound is used in this video. The video starts with non- diegetic sound showing the American city hall, with clips of reflections of soldiers and family members walking together reflecting of the building. However a positive representation of America is shown when Barack Obama and his wife is shown of him smiling and laughing and family members laughing and smiling and spending time together however negative representation is then shown through a sign being used showing 'Nation of immigrants' this is showing that with every positive there is a negative and it is a place which has a lot of immigrants in which shows a negative representation of American. This ignores the message that Rihanna is singing about; 'American Dream' where as the video is showing bad representation of America.

Skins- Amwar's Birthday- Maxxie admitting to Amwar's father that he is gay:
This clips shows a positive representation of race and ethnicity. It shows a typical Muslim man accepting that his son's friend Maxxie is gay. This is positive as the typical Muslim man that he father seems out to be does not usually accept gay people and believe it is wrong. This clip shows Maxxie not going to Amwar's party as he doesn't feel accepted and doesn't like it that Amwar's family doesn't know he is gay and Maxxie believes that he will not be accepted by Amwar's family. At first it shows Amwar admitting to his father that his friend Maxxie is gay, however his father doesn't listen and carries on talking to Maxxie about food, this gives the impression that he is ignoring him cause it is not what he wants to hear however once Maxxie admits it to Amwar's father he automatically goes quiet and listens to everything he has to say. Amwar's father at first gives the impression of disappointment and shocked through his facial expression going from smiling to nothing but then to smiling again. This then shows him understanding that people are different and not everyone believes in the same thing as Muslims. The clip then finishes with Amwar's father saying 'Come Maxxie, the food is ready' this gives the impression that Maxxie is welcome and Amwar's father accepts Maxxie for who he is.

Taken 2 trailer- Albanians represented as gangsters:
This trailer shows a negative representation of race as it is showing that all Albanian's are dangerous and gangsters. The clips shows the Albanians planning to kill Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) and killing all of his loved ones. This creates the impression of violence and the idea that all Albanian's are the same and violent. It also gives the impression of intimidation and being the leader. Mise- en- scene creates this representation of violence and danger by the clothes being worn, such as black clothing which creates the impression of mystery and danger. Also wearing black clothing it blends into the background and they look normal to people around them.

This Girl Can Video:

In the Girl Can video women are represented in a variety of ways. This includes women being confident. This is shown in the video by the woman being on her own, in the middle of no where being confident in the way she looks and not being bothered by what people think of her.
The video also represents women as being determined and motivated to do what they want to do and achieve the body they want. This is shown by close to the end of the video it shows that the women are tired. This is also shown through the sound changing to diegetic sound therefore enabling the audience to hear the women out of breath and tired. This sound changes when the lyric in the song "QUIET' is shouted out. This may give the impression that the women are going to give up as the music 'Get your freak on' is stopped and turned to silence. However it later shows a woman diving into a swimming where suddenly the sound changes to non diegetic sound again and the music, becoming fast again.

The women are also represented as independent and hard working. This is represented through the women putting themselves through tough challenges and being determined to accomplish what they want to do. This is shown in the clip below by the woman exercising and running up steep hills and running long distances to therefore challenge themselves even more.
A variety of technical codes and conventions are used in this clip, close up shots are used the show the facial expression and the sweat that is dripping from the womens faces.
